Mariposa - Service Learning

The Mariposa County Unified School District participates in serveral service learning projects. Their belief is that service learning can help students develop social skills, character and career awareness and can also motivate students by allowing them to apply skills and knowledge for local needs and problems and showing them that they can make valuable contributions to the school or community.

They participate in many projects, ranging from conservation and environmental issues to health issues, citizen's welfare, beautification projects, historical cultural research and restoration, and local planning issues. These projects are supported by more than twenty community partnerships, including UC Merced, Yosemite National Park, state agencies and local businesses.
